The Sabbath of Dec. 15 was indeed a red-letter day for our Butler society.  After intense anxiety for about five months over our church improvements, we were at last ready for reopening.  Bishop Breyfogel arrived late on Saturday night and found our people busy at work, setting up the assembly chairs, in the audience room, as they had just arrived.  Sabbath morning dawned beautifully, and with good roads left nothing to be desired in order to give the people an opportunity to attend.  Our sister churches dispensed with their services for the occasion, accepting our invitation to attend and participate.  Our large rooms were found insufficient to accommodate all who desired to attend. 

After a masterly sermon in the morning by the bishop, a statement made by the building committee revealed the fact that the entire expenditure is about $1,500.00, of which amount $500.00 were yet to be secured.  The work of giving at once began and after $640.00 in cash and good subscriptions were secured, the church was re-dedicated to the triune God, by the bishop.

As soon as practicable the church will be repainted on the outside and a new pipe top organ procured for the main room.  The work of giving still continues as more is needed in order to accomplish the above.  Truly the Lord gives victory unto his faithful people.  May he now grant us a glorious in-gathering of souls such as shall be saved.
